Getting started & containers
How a project is structured, creating containers, docker-compose templates, variables and secrets.
- Container Hosting at a glance: project, containers, volumes and networks With Container Hosting, you run your own containers in a project with fixed resources. Here you will learn the building blocks and find your way around the tabs in the customer area.
- Creating a container: choose an image, configure and start The wizard takes you to a running container in three steps - from our checked catalogue, the Docker Official Images or your own registry. Every image is security-checked before it starts.
- Using a docker-compose template If you already have a docker-compose.yml, the customer area reads variables, volumes, start command and web port from it. You always set passwords yourself.
- Setting environment variables and secrets correctly You configure your containers with environment variables. Mark passwords, tokens and keys as secret - they are stored encrypted and never displayed again.
- Updating containers: installing a new version How to bring a container up to date: security updates of the same version with “Recreate”, a new version via the settings - with a snapshot beforehand and a way back if something goes wrong.
- Importing from docker-compose: several containers in one step Do you use Docker with a docker-compose file? Upload it - we create all services as containers with networks, volumes and variables. This way you move a whole application including its database in one step.
