ModSecurity Web Application Firewall (WAF)
The Web Application Firewall is your shield against attacks on web applications. ModSecurity analyses every incoming request and blocks suspicious requests before they reach your website.
Protection against the OWASP Top 10:
- SQL injection: Prevents the injection of database commands
- Cross-Site Scripting (XSS): Blocks malicious scripts
- Path Traversal: Prevents unauthorised file access
- Remote Code Execution: Prevents malicious code from being executed
- Brute-force attacks: Automatically limits the number of login attempts
Our WAF uses the OWASP Core Rule Set and is continuously updated to provide protection against new threats.
DDoS protection
In a DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack, your website is flooded with requests until the server becomes overloaded. The consequences: loss of revenue, damage to your reputation and frustrated customers. Hosting providers are the main target, accounting for 30 per cent of all attacks - which is why professional protection is essential.
Our multi-layered DDoS protection:

SSL/TLS encryption
HTTPS encryption protects data transmission between the browser and the server. Without SSL, sensitive information can be intercepted. Furthermore, HTTPS is an important Google ranking factor.

Backup & Recovery
Despite all the protective measures in place, data loss can still occur - whether due to an attack, human error or a technical fault. Regular backups are your last line of defence.
5 days by default
Our backup strategy:
- Daily incremental backups of all webspace data
- 5 days of retention as standard (optional: 14 or 30 days)
- Granular recovery: individual files, databases or emails
- Free recovery via our support team
- Separate backup systems: Backups on separate infrastructure
