Under My products > Servers you see all servers with power status, contract, IP address and resources. The search finds servers by name, hostname or IP address.
The server page
At the top you see name, status, product, contract and the resources with disk speed, below that the current CPU load, the memory in use and the uptime. You change the displayed name with the pencil next to the name.
Below follow the tabs:
| Tab | Content |
|---|---|
| Overview | IP addresses with reverse DNS, additional IPs, access, network data - see IP addresses |
| Snapshots | Create and roll back snapshots - see Snapshots |
| Backups | External backups, restore, files - see External backups |
| Reinstallation | Install the system again - see Reinstallation |
| Statistics | Performance history |
| Upgrade | Options, disk speed, hardware, plan - see Upgrade |
| Firewall and firewall log | Rules and log - see Firewall |
| Console | The server screen in the browser - see First login |
Every tab has its own address (for example #firewall) that you can bookmark.
Power actions
You control the server via Power actions:
- Start - starts the server when it is switched off.
- Shut down - shuts the operating system down in a controlled manner (ACPI signal). This is the normal way to switch off the server.
- Reset (forced) - restarts immediately without shutting down the system. Only use it if the server no longer responds.
- Stop (forced) - switches off immediately, like pulling the plug. Can lead to data loss.
You trigger a normal restart inside the system, for example with reboot.
Shutting down inside the system and high availability
Your server is included in the cluster's high availability. If you shut it down inside the operating system (for example with poweroff), the cluster starts it again. If the server should stay off, use Shut down in the customer area. More under High availability.
Statistics
The Statistics tab shows the performance history in four charts: CPU load, memory, network (incoming and outgoing) and disk I/O (read and write). Choose the period hour, day, week, month or year. If the disk load permanently reaches the limit of your tier, a higher disk speed is worthwhile.
After cancellation
When the contract ends, the server is disconnected from the network and deleted a few days later. The date is shown as a notice on the server page. Back up your data in time. Booked external backups are kept for as many days as you had booked and are then deleted automatically. How to cancel is described under Managing and cancelling contracts.
